This course is focused on practical, professional outcomes that allow you to lead transformation on set.

By combining intensive, expert-led theory (10 days) with a practical 8–10 week production placement, this course equips professionals with the skills needed to lead carbon reporting and strategic environmental planning on set.

What will you learn?

You will gain the skills to navigate the climate landscape, master carbon competence, build strategic sustainability plans, drive cultural change within productions, and develop advanced problem-solving expertise.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking motivated individuals with a background in film or TV, particularly from Production Management or Locations, as well as in-house sustainability champions such as Heads of Production or Production Managers. The course is also suited to those wishing to formalise their sustainability expertise, and professionals with transferable experience from related industries such as music festivals or live events.

Applicants should have strong organisational and project management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid baseline understanding of sustainability science and initiatives.

We have 24 places available for HOD’s in the North of England.

The Film and TV Charity’s Mental Health Training was developed in response to the growing wellbeing challenges across the UK screen sector, where long hours, high pressure, unpredictable schedules, and emotionally demanding content can have a serious impact on those working behind the scenes.

Designed for anyone with leadership or management responsibilities, the course provides a practical, industry-specific introduction to mental-health risks, duty-of-care responsibilities, and the everyday realities facing teams in production environments.

Participants learn how to recognise early signs of distress, hold supportive conversations, and create a safer, more inclusive working culture where people feel able to talk openly about their wellbeing.
